Valid 062255Z - 070030Z The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 376 continues. SUMMARY...A couple instances of damaging gusts or hail may accompany the stronger storms across the remainder of Tornado Watch 376 and surrounding areas. A downstream WW issuance is not anticipated. DISCUSSION...An overall downward trend in storm intensity has been noted across portions of the TN Valley, including with storms that are moving across Tornado Watch 376. NLDN lightning data suggests that the frequency of lightning has begun decreasing, with echoes around 30 kft dropping below 40 dBZ over several locales. Furthermore, the preceding warm sector downstream of ongoing storms has experienced some degree of modification, which will also contribute to weakening trends. Flathead Lake was being filled as aggressively as possible while avoiding flood control limits, but despite these actions, the lake will not reach full pool this summer. A few tornadoes and a couple intense tornadoes possible Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 4 inches in diameter likely Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible SUMMARY...Multiple intense supercells will likely pose a threat for very large to potentially giant hail this afternoon and evening as they move generally east-southeastward. The largest hailstones may reach up to 3-4 inches in diameter. A few tornadoes will also be possible with any sustained supercells, mainly this evening as the low-level jet strengthens.
