MD 1172 CONCERNING TORNADO WATCH 381... FOR PARTS OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
Mesoscale Discussion 1172
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0351 AM CDT Sat Jun 07 2025
Areas affected...parts of central Oklahoma
Concerning...Tornado Watch 381...
Valid 070851Z - 071015Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 381 continues.
SUMMARY...A corridor of greater severe wind threat is likely
developing across parts of central Oklahoma.
DISCUSSION...A well-developed bowing line segment developed across
western Oklahoma and is now moving into central Oklahoma. Measured
wind speeds within this line have been mostly sub-severe thus far.
Primary reason for this is likely due to a reservoir of lesser
instability across southwest and west-central Oklahoma where earlier
storms impacted. However, this line of storms is nearing greater
instability south of I-40 and east of I-35 (Low to mid 70s
dewpoints). Some sign of intensification may be occurring in the
line with a stronger core which recently developed across southwest
Canadian county.
Another complicating factor is southward moving outflow which moved
out of the northern bow echo and has now advanced ahead of this line
of storms. This could also continue to lessen intensity of this
line. However, as it moves into the more unstable airmass across
southern and eastern Oklahoma, it may also serve as a focus for
additional storm development ahead of the line.
Despite the uncertainties, the organized nature of the bow as it
advances into greater instability increases confidence for some
severe wind threat as this line of storms continues to move
southeast. In addition, nearly 300 m2/s2 of 0-1km SRH from the KTLX
VWP will support some tornado threat through the early morning
hours.

WW 381 TORNADO OK TX 070305Z - 071100Z
URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
Tornado Watch Number 381
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1005 PM CDT Fri Jun 6 2025
The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
Western and Central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Panhandle
The Texas Panhandle
* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 1005 PM
until 600 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
A couple tornadoes possible
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3
inches in diameter likely
Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
to 75 mph possible
SUMMARY...Multiple intense supercells will likely continue to pose a
threat for large to very large hail this evening into the early
overnight hours as they move generally southeastward. The largest
hailstones may reach up to 2-3 inches in diameter. A couple of
tornadoes will also be possible with these supercells, especially
along/near a surface boundary draped northwest to southeast across
the OK/TX Panhandles into western/central OK. Otherwise, scattered
severe/damaging winds up to 65-75 mph will likely become an
increasing concern as thunderstorms grow upscale into a cluster
overnight.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles
north and south of a line from 35 miles south southwest of Guymon OK
to 15 miles south southeast of Chandler OK. For a complete depiction
of the watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS
WOU1).
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...CONTINUE...WW 379...WW 380...
AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

MD 1171 CONCERNING TORNADO WATCH 381...382... FOR NORTHERN OKLAHOMA
Mesoscale Discussion 1171
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0218 AM CDT Sat Jun 07 2025
Areas affected...Northern Oklahoma
Concerning...Tornado Watch 381...382...
Valid 070718Z - 070845Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 381, 382 continues.
SUMMARY...A swath of 75 to 90 mph wind gusts will likely continue
for at least another 1 to 2 hours.
DISCUSSION...Despite a lack of measured wind gusts in excess of 75
mph, evidence strongly supports an ongoing swath of significant
severe wind gusts within a bowing segment moving across northern
Oklahoma. 80+ knot wind gusts were sampled 100 feet AGL from the
KVNX VWP and similar wind values have persisted since. The overall
region of the stronger winds appears slightly more broad and less
intense than earlier, but is a signature that likely represents 75+
mph wind gusts. The environment downstream of this bow remains
favorable for maintenance with MUCAPE in excess of 2000 J/kg and a
persistent moderate low-level jet along this baroclinic zone. In
addition, strong low-level shear (>200 m2/s2 0-1km SRH from KINX
VWP) will support some QLCS tornado threat along the leading edge of
this squall line.
Therefore, expect this swath of 75+ mph wind gusts to persist for at
least another 1 to 2 hours.
