On the afternoon of July 12, 2022, a fire started 4 miles west of Petrolia, in Clay County. Multiple fire departments responded to mutual aid. The fire is located in very rough terrain, hills, and multiple drop-offs. Fuels are tall grass, thick brush and mesquite. The Post Oak fire has transitioned command back to the local departments. On Wednesday, July 6th at approximately 3:00pm, Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) responded to a request for assistance in Coryell County near Oglesby. The fire is burning in thick juniper on a difficult to access ridgeline. Resources on scene for initial attack included: 5 dozers, 3 Fire Boss single engine air tankers (water), 3 single engine air tankers (retardant), 3 helicopters, and one air attack platform. Containment line has been established and a handcrew is working on hot spots in areas of rough terrain. Several volunteer fire departments were on scene during initial attack, including Gatesville, Flat, Oglesby, Osage-Coryell City, and Coryell Office of Emergency Management. The Gatlin Creek Fire began on July 6th, 2022 in the area of Gatlin Creek Rd and Mt. Olive School Road. Texas A&M Forest Service is in unified command with Hays County. Aviation resources have been used to slow fire rate of spread, including a large air tanker, single engine air tankers, a type one large helicopter, and Travis County Starflight. On Sunday, July 3, 2022, a wildfire had started off of FM 1061 and Buena Vista Rd in Potter County. Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) received a request for assistance and was enroute at 2:00 pm on July 3. The fire was being pushed to the north by high winds through a short grass fuel component in rough topography from the Canadian River Drainage. TAMFS is working in unified command with Potter County Fire Dept. All resources include Potter County Fire, Boys Ranch Volunteer Fire Dept. TAMFS, National Parks Service, Bureau of Land Management and Potter County Motor Graders. On Sunday July 3rd, shortly before 4:00pm The Texas A&M Forest Service was requested by Williamson County for assistance on a wildfire in the area of Pecan Branch, Florence, Texas. At the time of the request locals were on scene engaging the fire, and Travis County Starflight helicopter was doing water bucket drops. The Texas A&M Forest Service is on scene and in unified command with the local fire department incident commander. On Sunday evening, aviation resources including 3 single engine air tankers, one helicopter, and air attack reconnaissance plane have been utilized. Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) received a request for assistance on a fire in Eastland County off of County Road 229-P close to the Callahan county line approximately 10 miles northeast of Cross Plains. TAMFS is currently working in unified command with local responders, dozers from Brownwood and engine crews from Merkel are currently constructing fire containment line and performing structure protection. The fire was showing extreme behavior with single tree torching and making short crown runs, but has moderated with improving weather conditions as the evening sets

The Sparkling Fallen Fire started late on the night of July 4th in Taylor County off of Spinks Road approximately 2 miles northwest of Abilene. Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) was requested early in the morning of July 5th and responded with two dozers and two brush truck engines and had the fire contained by noon at 26 acres. Due to high winds and triple digit temperatures, the fire has broken containment and made a push to the North. TAMFS is currently working in unified command with local responders with additional dozers, motor grader and additional engine crews, air craft are being utilized as well, making retardant drops to slow the head of the fire allowing crews to get ahead of
