At 4:16pm on August 7th, The Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to the Burns Creek Fire in Washington County. The fire began in the area of the 6600 block of FM 1948, and is moving north in the direction of Lake Sommerville. TAMFS is in unified command with local resources.All Evacuations have been lifted and residents are allowed back to their homes. Evacuations have been ordered on Schulenburg Lane, and the direct vicinity of the fire. Multiple aviation assets including 10 fixed-wing aircraft, and 2 helicopters have been utilized. Other assets ordered include 3 bulldozers, 3 agency fire engines, and a strike team of fire engines from Texas Interstate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS). Air assets are utilizing Lake Sommerville to dip water buckets; all boaters must avoid the area to allow crews to safely load and return. Do not fly drones at or near wildfires, as they are a hazard to aviation and hinder firefighting

Sunday - Aug 7, 6 PM Update: Air attack is underway to suppress fire activity while light conditions allow.. Incident resources working on west flank. On Monday August 8th, 2022 at 9:30 pm, Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to assist with a fast moving wildfire near Groveton, TX in Trinity County. Crews arrived on scene and found moderate to high wildfire activity in young pine plantations. No homes were immediately threatened, and no evacuations were ordered or reported. Crews were able to stop forward progression of the fire late into the night, and managed to increase the containment to 80% before leaving the scene with only smoldering fire activity remaining. The Fish Fire was reported on Sunday, July 31 at 11:30 a.m. The fire is located 7 miles south of Sundance, Wyoming and east of Wyoming Highway 585. It is on the Bearlodge Ranger District, Black Hills National Forest in steep, rugged terrain on Iron Mountain. The fire started on private land and was human caused.  The Wyoming State Type 3 Incident Management Team 3 began managing the incident on August 2, but due to rapid growth and spread of the fire, the Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team 1 took over command of the fire the following day, August 3. Command of the fire reverted to the Wyoming Type 3 Team on Monday, August 8. It is anticipated that command of the fire will be turned over to local agencies when circumstances allow. The County Assist Team would like to thank the local cooperating agencies, residents, and partners for all of the support provided throughout the incident. The fire will be turned back over to the local unit on Tuesday, August 8. Texas A&M Forest Service has been requested to assist on the Smoke Rider Fire. The fire ignited on the afternoon of August 2 on the Blanco/Hays County line.The fire crossed Highway 290 and had prompted evacuations in the area.  On August 3, 2022 a wildfire started just north of Tolar, Texas. The fire grew quickly and established itself in thick oak and juniper brush. Local volunteer fire departments responded and began suppressing the fire. Departments from across Hood county responded to Tolar fire department's request for assistance to help attack this fire. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to bring aerial resources and heavy equipment to assist local departments and are now working in Unified command with Hood County Fire Marshal's office. A fire started in southern Palo Pinto county on Tuesday July 2nd and local resources quickly began suppression. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested for assistance due to the rapid growth and the heavy fuels the fire was burning in. Dozers, engines, and a crew module responded and began constructing line. With the dry juniper fuels present in the area, resources are spending a significant amount of effort identifying and containing spot fires. Engines from Palo Pinto, Parker, and Hood counties all have been supporting the line construction by putting out heats along the lines that could threaten the constructed dozer lines. Once the dozer lines have been completed and conditions have moderated some, resources will be conducting some burn operations into this evening to remove some of the need for extensive mop up. The Halfway Hill Fire was detected on July 8, 2022, at about 2:00 PM. Although fire crews quickly responded, the fire grew significantly in the first few hours, prompting the evacuation of homes and recreation areas. Evacuations were lifted on the evening of July 13, once a portion of the fire perimeter adjacent to the subdivision was contained.  The Fishlake NF has an area and road closure in effect.  Great Basin Incident Management Team 4 assumed command on July 10, operating from a camp at the Millard County Fairgrounds.

Gem Lake Fire (Wildfire)

The Gem Lake Fire started the afternoon of July 14, 2022, when a single engine airplane crashed igniting the fire. Two large Chinook Helicopters, were assisted by a smaller helicopter and the Gila National Forest Helitack crew.  The Blacktooth and Black Hills Wildland Fire Modules engaged with suppression efforts from the ground.  Local crews continue to patrol the fire intermittently. To protect public and firefighter safety, an emergency closure order is in place through August 15, 2022 for the area around the fire and includes Forest System Trail 040, North Rock Creek.
