SUMMARY...The severe threat across southern Arkansas and the Ark-La-Tex is expected to continue to decrease over the next hour, and the ongoing watches will be allowed to expire at 05Z. DISCUSSION...An MCS is currently located from far northeast Texas extending east-northeastward across western and central Arkansas. The RAP suggests that instability has markedly decreased along the southern edge of the MCS over the last hour. This trend will continue, and the severe threat is expected to gradually diminish. For this reason, the ongoing watches will be allowed to expire at 05Z. SUMMARY...A severe threat will continue over the next few hours from far northeast Texas northeastward into central Arkansas. DISCUSSION...The latest mosaic radar imagery shows a broken line of strong to severe storms located across east-central Arkansas, with scattered more discrete cells from western Arkansas southward into the Ark-La-Tex. New convection appears likely to develop to the south of the ongoing storms across south-central Arkansas late this evening. In addition to moderate instability, 0-6 km shear in that areas is estimated to be near 50 knots according to the RAP. This will support continued severe storm development over the next couple of hours. Large hail and isolated wind damage will be possible with supercells. A locally greater wind-damage threat will possible ahead of short bowing line segments. In addition, low-level shear has increased across the region due to a strengthening jet near 850 mb. Valid 150158Z - 150300Z The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 43, 44, 47 continues. SUMMARY...Damaging winds will be the primary threat with an organized line of storms moving into southern Indiana. A line-embedded supercell will be capable of producing a tornado. DISCUSSION...An organized line of convection with an embedded supercell continues east into southern Indiana. This embedded supercell has shown relatively strong low-level rotation and will be the primary focus for tornado potential during the next hour. Damaging winds will also be possible, particularly with the more north-south oriented line. The KVWX VAD showed around 70 kts at 1-1.5 km AGL as the line passed. The eastward extent of the severe threat is somewhat uncertain given the increasing CINH and decreasing buoyancy.
