The Woodbury is now 100% controlled. State Route 88 Closure: Because of the potential for severe flooding from areas burned in the Woodbury Fire, a 7-mile, unpaved section of State Route 88 (Apache Trail) will remain closed from an area several miles east of Tortilla Flat to just west of the Apache Lake marina turnoff while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues assessing conditions. All inquiries in regards to the closure on State Route 88 (Apache Trail Historic Road) should be directed to ADOT. Ghost Fire (Wildfire)

The lightning-caused Ghost Fire, reported on Saturday, August 3 is approximately 40 acres, burning on National Forest System lands in Catron County, NM. It is burning in ponderosa pine pinyon juniper, oak, and grass approximately 3 miles east of Collins Park. The crew and two engines plan to keep the fire south of the Bursum Road in Y Canyon, east of FR 4047U, and north of FR 4047Z. The fire is visible from Elk Springs Subdivision and NM Highway 12 as crews burn out in advance of the fire. The Fire is exhibiting moderate to low fire effects. This particular area is drier than most of the surrounding area, but is anticipated to receive rain with the current forecast.

Bear Fire (Wildfire)

The lightning-caused Bear Fire is approximately 1,350 acres, burning on National Forest System lands in the Black Range Ranger District. This fire is approximately 25 miles northwest of Winston, NM. Minimal fire activity is occurring and is moderated by occasional precipitation.

441 Fire (Wildfire)

The 441 fire is a lightning-caused fire, located roughly 5 miles east of Durango, 8 miles north of Highway 160, and 2.5 miles north of County Road 240 on the Columbine Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest. It was discovered July 13th and is approximately 330 acres in size. The fire is located in an area that will allow fire to play its natural role in our fire-adapted ecosystem. Fire fighters are working to establish control lines along existing trails and some of these trails are now closed as a result. See the closure tab on this site for a map of the closure area and the text of the closure order.The fire is burning in Ponderosa Pine and an area of significant dead and down within the Missionary Ridge fire scar. This type of wildfire will be allowed to naturally burn through this area to remove fuels that could feed future, severe wildfires. Five Fire (Wildfire)

The Five Fire started at 12:52 PM on August 3rd. The fire started on the North Bound side of Interstate 5 - two miles north of Templin Highway. As of 3:32 PM, it is 150 acres with 20% containment. The cause of the fire is under investigation. At this time, there are no evacuations or structures threatened. Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire have responded to the incident. Angeles has committed 250 firefighters to the incident. California Highway Patrol (CHP) has reopened all lanes of the Northbound I-5. At 1 PM (8/5), the #4 lane will be closed briefly so firefighters may retrieve fire hose from the incident. Please contact CHP for additional road closure information.

Ridgetop Fire (Wildfire)

The Ridgetop Fire was reported at 11:30 am on August 1st. The fire was burning 35 miles North of Winnett, Montana in Petroleum County. The fire burned 11,128 acres and is now 100% contained. 17 personnel remain assigned to the fire continuing to mop up and patrol the area as needed.
