We are referring you to FEMA's Individuals and Households Program (IHP).

You may qualify for assistance based on the information you gave us in your application. But if that doesn’t tell FEMA enough to decide if you’re eligible, we may need to do an inspection of your home.

If we must do an inspection, an inspector will contact you to confirm your disaster damage.

It’s very important that you, the co-applicant, or someone else you choose be present for the inspection. Will you or the co-applicant be able to be there?

Agent Info: If the caller says they need someone else to go for them, also read the following:

Since you need to send someone else to the inspection for you, you need to give us that person's name and contact information — in writing — before the inspection date. That person must be age 18 or older and have ID with them.

The inspector may also ask for the documents below, so please be sure you have them ready:

Proof that you lived in the home at the time of the disaster (like a utility bill).

Proof of home ownership (like a deed) or a lease agreement, if you are a renter.

A copy of your insurance policies.

FEMA will send your status to you by mail within 10 days of your inspection.
