Program Description

Crop Insurance protects agricultural producers against crop and revenue losses due to natural perils. The program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Risk Management Agency (USDA RMA), offers several plans for crops and livestock. Availability and plans vary by state and county.

General Program Requirements

To qualify for this program, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Be an agricultural farmer or rancher.
  • Buy a policy for your specific crop(s) by the sales closing date in your county.
